A note before you write

You don't have to know what you need. You don't have to have the right words. You don't have to have already decided whether you want to work with me.

You just have to say hi.

Most of the women I've walked with started with a message that began "I'm not sure why I'm writing but..." or "A friend told me about you..." or "I've been reading your work for a while..." All of those are perfect openings. So is "Hi."

I read everything. I respond to everything, usually within a day or two.
